The fashionista in me is cringing at all these proposed bridesmaid dresses...  Who would want to wear an office dress made out of shiny taffeta?  Why do the rest look like soggy caveman chiffon?  Did they really need to add a puffy flower there?  Is this really how I want preserved in someone's photo album forever?

Can't afford to stick it to the man

My most immediate confidence boost would come from wearing an edgy, fashion-forward ensemble and styling my hair into Victoria's Secret waves for my interview... but then that would be considered distracting and unprofessional.  Who says doctors can't be expressive with their outfits?  Even then, we're going to have to do a lot of walking around during the tour, and it might be rainy and cold over there.

Inner self vs. outer practicality... not worth the risk at this point.  I guess I'll have to reign in the fashionista this time.

C'est Ma Fête

This young woman was hanging out with her friends on top of Mount Royal.  Another take on the big black and white trend.  On her cheek, with eyeliner, she'd written "C'EST MA FETE" which means "It's my party."  What a charming way to spend your birthday!  Her pigtails add to the fun and 'do what I want' girly attitude.

This dress showed me the ever importance of tailoring - I didn't have time to go and take it in at the straps so I had to wear a cami underneath, but it still bulged a bit in the back and I had to adjust myself every once in awhile.  Such little things make big differences.

One top for one very busy day

The other day, I had a lot of places to go where the dress code was very different.  Of course in my opinion, dressing should not be merely based on convenience.  I wasn't going to have time to go back to my dorm and change, and I didn't want to carry around a giant, bulky bag full of clothes.  So, I got creative with my peplum top from ASOS.

All this time

Today was Oxford College Commencement.  I saw more glimpses of southern charm, as seen below with the clean cut trio.

It's always cute to see little kids dressed up for special occasions.  They can be as whimsical as they want.

Graduations are times to celebrate, spend with family and friends... and I guess sometimes, shoes are optional.

Easter Sunday

Everyone dresses up so nicely for Easter :)

  

Stephanie is always very lady-like and vintage.  Here you can see that she dressed her petite frame very well instead of trying something too short or baggy.

 

I really liked Christie's mix of soft (lace dress, bow headband) and harder pieces (blazer, edgy wedges).  It was all pulled together, clean and easy.

 

Finally got the type of creeper candid shot that I've been trying for for forever!  Tomi can pull off slacks like no one I've known.  The girls in the back look very nice too.  I particularly like the oxford heels on the left and the striped skirt.

 Yay first boy on the blog!  Peter is brave with his popping accessories.  Kat's yellow dress is sweet and coordinated well.  Yellow is one of my favorite spring colors.  And their glasses match, hehe cute.
